A company built with three pilars: DESIGN, ETHICS AND LONGEVITY.
The sustainable fashion brand House of Dagmar was founded by three sisters Karin Söderlind, Kristina Tjäder, and Sofia Wallenstam – and presented knitwear as the brand signature. The brand proclaimed three sustainability pillars: high quality in their fabrics, production processes and designs. So, for their intense and continuous work on the sustainable fashion side, House of Dagmar has won the Zalando Sustainability Award held at Copenhagen Fashion Week in February 2021 where House of Dagmar has highlighted its dedication to transparent supply chains and put the workers’ rights in line with the brand’s high standards.
The Swedish brand has gradually improved the percentage of their sustainable collections since 2005. In 2017, the team joined the European Clothing Action Plan, also gained supports from Anthesis Group consultants. For 2020 collection, 90% of the collection was sustainable and a GOOD CHOICE (from only 25% in 2017). And for Spring 2021, it has reached total 100% sustainable in the collection using only certified fabrics and followed with the footprint reports.
On the footprint reports: “We started to do that because we wanted a change, and not until you know what footprint you actually have can you do a change,” Söderlind explained during Stockholm Spring 2021 to Vogue as the company has been reporting its fiber footprint for many years. And their goal is to be CO2 neutral by 2025.
In 2013-14, the brand had launched their first animal-friendly fur, made from real mohair wool sewn onto a cotton fabric and experimented using recycled PET-bottles in our raincoats and other jackets. And has been using certified LENZING™ viscose since 2018.
As stated in their official website, team of House Of Dagmar has set up their social consciousness, by: – supporting women to be full participants in society, practicing business responsibly with absolute regard for human rights, and guiding their product and practice toward sustaining our environment.
For AW2021 season, the brand used advanced emerging web technology and has created an Augmented Reality presentation to show a few selected looks. Maggie Mauer as the model, portrayed wandering around the city streets as the background. House of Dagmar focused on stretch cozy flannels tailored suits and soft knitted classic modern dress, with warm neutral colours oat, honey, and hazelnut contrasted by deep navy, cinnamon, and cobalt blue. And all about feeling good, and all are sustainable pieces.
